Victoria Beckham sparks mixed reactions after Tom Cruise kisses her hand at husband's Hollywood event

In a viral video circulating online, Victoria Beckham was seen seated one chair away from Tom Cruise. The 63-year-old star actor gently touched Victoria's shoulder before the two held hands. Moments later, Cruise leaned down and respectfully kissed her hand, to which Victoria responded with a warm, affectionate smile. The couple's second son, Romeo Beckham, was seated next to Cruise during the exchange, Marca reported.

The brief moment was captured on camera and quickly amassed tens of millions of views, sparking a fierce debate among netizens. Some users criticized Victoria, arguing that the gesture was overly intimate for a married woman to accept in public. The moment also spawned countless memes expressing surprise at the interaction.

An account with over 1.3 million followers on X posted the clip with the caption: "Every man understands the look Victoria gives Tom Cruise," drawing more than 7.5 million views and thousands of comments.

Another user chimed in and said: "If David Beckham held a girl's hand like that, he'd be sleeping on the sofa."

Under a post by the Turkish magazine Aykiri, a reader commented: "If someone kissed my wife's hand like that, I'd make a fuss."

Meanwhile, others defended the interaction, arguing that the internet was dramatically overreacting to a polite and traditional social gesture between longtime friends.

"In England, it's normal for a man to kiss another man's wife on the cheek," a commenter wrote. "I wouldn't mind being kissed on the hand."

An account pointed out their decades-long friendship: "You can see that in the look Victoria gave Tom before he kissed her hand. Seriously, can't you be friends with someone of the opposite sex in 2026? That's a genuine gesture of support. People need to get rid of that prejudice."
